First time customers get their first appointment for $65!
Are you the person your family and neighbors always call with Wi-Fi problems? Or when they get locked out of an account and need help resetting a password? Do you actually enjoy helping them fix it?
We are a residential tech support company looking for a tech-savvy "people person" to join our team as a Field Support Technician. In this role, you will travel to residential clients across the Central Missouri community, helping people solve the frustrating, everyday tech problems that disrupt their lives so they can get right back to their daily routines.
This is the perfect role for a student who wants to build client-facing skills, solve practical problems, and make a tangible impact on the local community. We prioritize patience, communication, and empathy above all else.
Employment Type: Part-Time (W-2 Employee)
Location: Central Missouri (Traveling to clients in Columbia, Jeff City, Fulton and surrounding communities)
Compensation: $25 per hour
Authorization and Compliance: Comprehensive background checks and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) screenings are strictly required prior to formal hire. CoMo Tech maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding any history of violent, theft-related, or predatory offenses to ensure the absolute safety and privacy of our residential clients.
Welcome to CoMo Tech! Our mission is to make technology friendly and accessible for everyone in our community. We don't code software, program systems, or fix physically broken equipment like cracked screens or opened laptops. Instead, we visit our neighbors' homes to resolve everyday technical frustrations—like dropping Wi-Fi networks, streaming setups, or locked accounts—bringing confidence and peace of mind back to their digital routines.
This is an on-call, as-needed, part-time position. Because our work depends entirely on residential customer demand as it arises, there are no guaranteed minimum hours, specific schedules, or set income levels per week.
First-Come, First-Served: Available customer service requests are managed through our team app and distributed across our technician pool on a first-come, first-served basis as they become available.
One Appointment at a Time: We intentionally do not schedule appointments back-to-back. We want our technicians completely focused on the customer they are currently serving without feeling rushed to get to the next location.
Clocking In: Technicians use their own reliable transportation to get to an accepted assignment. You will clock in using our company app only once you have arrived and parked at the customer's location. Travel to and from appointments is considered commuting and is unpaid.
Ultimate Flexibility: We will always respect and work completely around your existing college class schedule, primary employment, or family commitments. You simply pick up the available tickets that fit your open windows.
We do not expect you to know the answer to every single technical problem, and we never want our technicians struggling alone on a difficult case.
If you are on-site and find yourself unsure of what to do next, you have a dedicated backup support team ready to assist you. If an appointment is running long or a glitch is too complex, you can instantly call our internal helpdesk or loop in a supervisor via our company channels to help you troubleshoot, guide your next steps, or arrange a hand-off. We provide the safety net so you can focus entirely on being a kind, supportive problem-solver for the customer.

The "Helper" Personality: You are the patient person your friends or family always turn to when their internet drops or they get locked out of an account—and you genuinely enjoy helping them. We prioritize extreme patience, empathy, and communication over advanced technical backgrounds.
