Youth Voice & Power

Young people do not have an active, leadership role in the agencies that seek to serve them.

Youth ages 13 - 19 have limited and powerless roles in the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) – Office of Community Schools - Students for Temporary Housing Unit (STH).

We envision STH as an entity that is receptive, responsive, and effective at thoroughly meeting the needs, interests, and concerns of the youth they serve.

The mission of the Community Change Institute is to systematically engage youth affected by homelessness in designing, restructuring, and rethinking STH programs and services.
