Palermo
The Postgraduate Course is held at the University of Palermo. Palermo is the capital of the Sicilian Region. It is located in the north-west of Sicily, right on the Gulf of Palermo overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea.
The University of Palermo was founded in 1806, although its first roots date back to 1498, when medicine and law were taught there. After the unification of Italy in 1860, the University of Palermo was modernized under the impulse of the chemist Stanislao Cannizzaro and the minister and specialist in Arab studies Michele Amari. Today, the University has around 1,500 faculty and more than 40,000 students. Research is carried out in all major disciplines at University of Palermo. In recent years the university has actively participated in international research and cooperation programs.
The University of Palermo will carry out the post-graduate specialization course in "Econophysics and Computational Finance" at Room C of Building 17 of the Viale delle Scienze Campus. The Campus can be reached by bus service from the city center or from the central railway station with buses number 108, 109, 104, 118, 234.
Bus service: the bus ticket (managed by AMAT) is available at tobacconists, some bars and some newsstands (or the AMAT kiosk in Via LibertĂ adjacent to Politeama), and is valid for 90 (ninety) minutes. You need to stamp your ticket in one of the machines near the vehicle entrances when you board the first bus you take using that ticket.
