Q1) I am enrolled at another University, is this a problem from a formal point of view?

A1 From the point of view of the University of Palermo, your enrollment at another University is not a problem. However, you must verify that it is not a problem for your University by checking the rules of your University.

Q2) The duration of the course is 2 months, so the end is scheduled for mid-September. Is this correct?

A2) Yes, it is. The course will be concluded by middle September 2021. However, keep in mind that it is 80 hours of frontal teaching (carried out in the last two weeks of July) and 120 hours of individual study which can be organized at the student's discretion after the two weeks of frontal teaching training.

Q3) Will the lessons and tutorials be in in-person or online mode?

A3) Lessons and tutorials (there are no tests or assignments but only a final project) are scheduled in-person. However, due to the pandemic, they could be delivered in mixed form or exclusively online if national authorities would ban in-person lectures.

Q4) Does the project also include partnerships for insertion into a company?

A4) The project does not include an internship in a company. However, we will work for contacts with companies that may be interested in this professional figure.

Q5) I have applied for some research grants during this period. If I started as a postdoc, would I be in a conflict position with the postgraduate course?

A5) From the point of view of the University of Palermo, there is no problem for a research grant holder to participate in the course.

Q6) I am a PhD student. Is participation in the Course compatible with my status?

A6) From the point of view of the University of Palermo, participation in the course is compatible with the status of PhD student.

Q7) Does the Course allow to obtain ECTSs?

No, the course does not issue credits but will provide students who follow it positively with a certificate of participation in the Post Graduate Specialization Course in "Econophysics and Computational Finance".
