The Village Teacher was founded by educators from around the globe with a simple purpose in mind:
Access to high quality educational opportunities that meet learners and teachers where they are at economically has never truly existed in an equitable or sustainable manner. We aim to fix this by providing a platform for teachers, families, and learners to access space, time, resources, and money to explore innovative educational experiences. We service the community by offering online and in-person access points to educational resources, opportunity, people, and capital.
Our goal is to create avenues of access and equity by the Village for the Village.
Teachers: In-person and online courses, services, and resources. Training, professional development, and coaching for aspiring educators - our goal is to help raise a generation of teachers and match them with teaching opportunities that meet their needs and teaching profile.
Families: we offer tuition models that scale according to family size and economic need. Whether a family is enrolled in one of our Early Learning programs, an online course, or one of our in-person supplementary educational courses
Students: we offer differentiated, educational opportunities, that meet the diverse needs of student populations in our community. We partner with schools across the city, state, and country to identify students that are being underserved and provide teachers, resources, and social-emotional support by meeting them where they are at in differentiated ways.
Schools: we provide a subsidized, constant stream of trained educator recruits for subbing and full time employment, educational consulting services, and ancillary educational services such as in-house workshops, class audits, testing prep services, as well as classroom and testing space for schools lacking programmatic space or resources.
We help young families in the critical period between 1 and 5 years old get access to quality education and job opportunities under one roof through our partnership with Communitea House. Communitea House employees with children in our Early Learning Programs gain access to resources
We are committed to paying employees above what is considered fair market value for their services, while also maintaining operational viability. We do this by being part of the Consortium network of business partners at the Communitea Project. Through this initiative, we are too diverse to fail.
