The Future of Work: Understanding AI and Preparing Kids for a Rapidly Changing Economy
Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 5pmPST/8pm EST (one hour)
Today's kids will have multiple careers in their lifetimes and may wind up in jobs that haven't yet been invented. Adding to the unknown is artificial intelligence (AI), which is accelerating change at dizzying speed.
Being a good student will always be important. And the ability to analyze data produced by AI will be key, so critical and analytical thinking top the necessary skills list. Preparing kids to thrive in an unknown future also involves fostering an adaptable mindset. Problem-solving and strong communication skills will help workers collaborate, and creativity and a strong sense of empathy will serve them well in a changing landscape. Being comfortable with technology will continue to be foundational as well.
Join this live webinar for a timely look at the skills kids need to develop to thrive in the future, as well as guidance for parents working to adjust to this new normal. Panelists include a corporate futurist who has witnessed younger generations joining the workplace, and a young entrepreneur whose company pairs recent college graduates with high school students for mentorships centered on career preparedness. Plus, learn what Common Sense is doing to help families and educators navigate AI literacy and education to support all kids.
This live, hour-long webinar will be recorded. All questions submitted at registration will be shared with the panelists ahead of time. There will also be a live chat.

How to promote your exclusive parent education events

Here are some easy tricks to ensure that parents take advantage of the opportunity to attend these events:
▪ Promote the events early and often!
▪ Designate a lead person from your school to coordinate outreach and communications.
▪ Share flyers via email and include registration links on your school calendar.
▪ Incorporate a description about the event in your parent newsletter and on your website.
