beginning & end of year processes

How things are set up and what should be done to close out the school year.

Beginning of Year

• Add your commerceisd.org Google account as a teacher in your cisdtigers.org Google Classrooms. This will allow Classlink to create your Google Classrooms and keep them updated throughout the year and you can control your digital classroom with your commerceisd.org account. Video Tutorial Here

• Check all of your Shared Drive members/permissions:

  • Viewer

  • Commenter

  • Contributor - add & edit files

  • Content Manager - add, edit, move & delete files

  • Manager - manage content, people, settings

End of year

Archive Google Classrooms (to delete your Classrooms from the student dashboards)

Copy Google Classrooms (to keep assignments)

If you are leaving the district:

Make a copy of your Google Classrooms and add yourself as a Teacher from a personal Google account. Open Google Classroom in the personal account, accept the invite, and make another copy to ensure your Classroom survives Commerce ISD account deletion. 

Use Google Takeout to move your Commerce ISD Google account files to a personal Google account.
