Tutorials can be an essential piece of academic success for our Falcon students. I have made it a priority to be as available as possible for my students who need extra help with concepts they are struggling with. There are plenty of opportunities for students to get that extra boost, either by me or by their peers. Below is some resources students can utilize to find where and when to go.

I welcome walk-ins on days my schedule says "Available." For other times, I use Google Sheets for students to reserve an appointment before or after school to come in and receive help from me. It is a first come, first serve basis. Students can reserve a spot for either a one-on-one/select small group or whole-class session.

HCCPHS also offers the Tutoring Center in the mornings where students can go to their peers as well as any teacher on duty for additional assistance! This is a great resource and reflects the Math and Writing Centers that are typically available at colleges.
What is Falcon Hour?
What is Falcon Hour?
Falcon Hour is the period in which students have the time to grab lunch, study, go to tutorials, or meet up with their clubs and organizations. It is reflective of the time that college students have between classes when they decide how to best utilize that free period. This hour is designed not only to help students hone their time management skills, but also gives teachers the ability to have targeted interventions and lessons. Students also can use this time to make up quizzes, tests, and any other missed assignments when they were absent.
It is designed with two lunch periods:
12:15 pm - 12:45 pm: A Lunch
12:45 pm - 1:15 pm: B Lunch

I currently have two walk-in tutorial opportunities during Falcon Hour. Each nine-week grading period, these opportunities may change slightly to adjust for intervention tutorial sessions, which are by invitation only.
