Welcome to Kārearea

Kia ora everyone!

We hope you are coping and keeping well during this short period of isolation, remember to be kind and follow the rules.

Below is an outline of how Kārearea's online learning will take place. Mr Smith will be working to provide learning activities for Kārearea students. I understand that home learning can be a challenge for some families during this time so we will aim to keep things manageable and of course we are available to contact via email austin@colyton.school.nz. The main thing is to ensure your bubble stays happy, well and positive throughout the isolation period.

We would like your child to check in and out daily using the google forms linked to their Google Class site this helps us to know your child is engaging with us and a quick way to let us know how they are feeling.

Learning Information for Kārearea .....

All students learning will be via Google Classroom which will be set on Monday at 9am and due on Friday 3pm unless stated otherwise on the site. Along with set learning tasks on Google Classroom there is also a link to websites that we have collated under appropriate curriculum areas which are great when the students have completed all tasks or just need a bit of a change!

Karearea 2022

We will be meeting for Zoom meetings Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10:00. These will be a chance to catch up, I will be reading the class novel and we will do a couple of fun Kahoots ( on line quiz competitions). The learning tasks that are up on the classroom site will mirror some of the learning we would have been doing at school anyway. There will also be a challenge activity. These learning tasks should be able to be completed independently without the constant need for parental help - if your child is finding it to difficult don't stress, I will be online and available from 9:00 for them to send messages to.

Tips for learning at home:

Look at learning tasks and split them into manageable daily chunks. How you do this is entirely up to you. This is also when I would suggest you send any questions you may have about the week.

• We will also be holding zoom meetings on Monday at 10:-11:00 with the aim to check in and clarify any learning tasks for the week, Wednesday 10-11:00 and Friday 10-11:00am again to check in, clarify and hopefully have a little bit of fun!
