What is the Columbus County Schools curriculum adoption process?
We analyze our student learning data, research, best practices, and previous materials adoptions to help us establish what our district priorities and needs are for the next five years.
The Adoption Team reviews exemplar curriculum evaluation processes and criteria and then creates a rubric that reflects the district’s instructional vision and needs. The rubric will be used by stakeholders - teachers, parents, administrators - to provide feedback and evaluation of selected curriculum to review.
The Adoption Team and District Stakeholders - Teachers, Parents and Administrators - examine instructional materials using the district curriculum evaluation rubric.
District leaders evaluate the feedback from stakeholders and the adoption team and make a recommendation to the Superintendent and School Board
