Welcome to Mr. Franken's 8th Grade Math Website!

Class Overview

In 8th Grade Math, we will take a journey through five different domains of mathematics: The Number System, Expressions and Equations, Functions, Geometry, and Statistics and Probability. If you notice, the Functions domain is new to 8th graders, as over the past two years they have studied the Ratios and Proportional Relationships domain to help prepare them for Functions. Students are familiar with the other four domains, but this year, they will be taking an even deeper dive into each one as they master such skills as: formulating and reasoning about expressions and equations, using functions to describe quantitative relationships, analyzing two- and three-dimensional space and figures, as well as understanding and applying the Pythagorean Theorem.
