About Me

Hello everyone, my name is Bryce Franken, and I am the new 8th Grade Math teacher at Columbiana Middle School. This is my second year of teaching after graduating from Youngstown State University in May of 2019. I spent my first year teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Math at Paul C. Bunn in Youngstown, and I gained a lot of valuable experience there. I am really looking forward to bringing my math skills back to Columbiana.

And, I say "back" because I am actually a 2014 graduate from Columbiana High School. I was a part of the National Honor Society, a four-year letter winner in baseball, and a three-year letterman in basketball. I was also awarded the Dan Baehler Memorial Scholarship, which, to this day, I am very proud of. Ever since getting into the education program at YSU, I always envisioned myself coming back to teach at Columbiana. I am so excited to be home.

I am an assistant coach for the high school varsity baseball team, and I am an avid Cleveland sports fan. My wife, Lauren, and I love to go to games, binge-watch our favorite shows, and spend time with our family and friends.

This year will certainly be interesting and full of things that administrators, educators, and students have never dealt with before. However, I am looking forward to the challenge, and I promise to make this mathematical journey as enjoyable as I can for my students.
