Process

1.  Students will choose one ancient Korean invention from the list below and create Google Slideshow about the invention that meets the criteria listed below. 

Possible Inventions 

1. Movable type printing 

2. Kiln sauna 

3. Astronomical observatory 

4. Water gauge 

5. Water clock 

6. Turtle ship 

2.  Students must take short / research notes, like we practiced in class. Students use these notes to make a Google Slideshow about their invention.

3. Students need to include a bibliography done in MLA format that includes 3 sources that they got information about their invention. 

4.  The Google Slideshow must include at least five slides (one title slide). 

In those five slides you need to include at least one visual of their invention; basic information about the invention (who (inventor, dynasty), where, when) and a general description of what the invention looked like; a description of how it worked; and an explanation about why you think it may have influenced ancient Korea (and maybe the world); and any other interesting information.

Marking

 You will be marked in the four categories (K, T, C, A)

• Knowledge – basic information, general description, how it looked (extra info)

• Thinking – influence on ancient Korea and the world 

• Communication – oral presentation skills (to be discussed as a class) 

• Application – creation of an effective Google Slide show (to be discussed as a class)

• Application - creation of research notes

• Application - creation of a bibliography
