Ken Stallman
Our students make great sacrifices to pursue their intellectual dreams. I strive to make sure that they receive a rigorous and rewarding education.
I have been an instructor of record for several courses, which are listed below. Syllabi for all my classes are available upon request.
Prior to graduating from the University of Colorado Boulder with a PhD in Political Science, I also served as a teaching assistant (TA) every semester when I did not have a course of my own. As a TA, I was responsible for solo instructing an hour-long class of about 20 students twice a week.
CU Boulder collects student feedback every semester in the form of Faculty Course Questionnaires (FCQs). These reports are publicly available at the following link:

Below, I list a few comments that come from anonymous student feedback about my teaching.
On the Quality of Instruction: “I really enjoyed Ken's class. He was a very good and knowledgeable teacher and was very respectful to everyone in the class. He also did an amazing job of making sure that everyone's voice was heard. I would certainly take another class taught by Ken.”
On the Quality of the Course: “Ken provided excellent assignments and lectures that provided me the opportunity to think critically and analyze scholarly articles in a way that I never had. He facilitated good discussions and was often very helpful in providing feedback for his students. The papers were the best (and surprisingly the most difficult) part of the class, and I feel like this type of writing should be done for everyone at some point in their college career.”
On Grading Clarity: “I like the idea of the consistent Kahoot quizzes to test comprehension. Also, you were always very explicit about your expectations.”
