Welcome!
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, a Research Affiliate at the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA) and the Social Impact Lab, and a Faculty Affiliate at the Colorado Fertility Project.Â
I am an applied microeconomist studying how health policies influence risky behaviors and human capital accumulation. My research uses quasi-experimental variation from large-scale policy interventions to estimate how individuals respond to changes in incentives, with a focus on unintended behavioral responses. Across a variety of settings, including including reproductive health, soda taxation, and sleep-related risk, I show how policies targeting one margin often induce substitution along others, with important implications for policy design.
