Unique Presentation Formats
Try one of these alternatives to give a new twist to a traditional presentation!
Ignite Talks
Ignite Talks are fast paced presentations with 20 auto-advancing slides every 15 seconds for a total of 5 minutes. Check out the Ignite by Pernille Ripp.
PechaKucha
PechaKucha is a similar style to Ignite, with 20 auto-advancing images every 20 seconds. The emphasis on using strict images can be helpful for students who are accustomed to relying on bullet points. Check out the example below.
Three Minute Thesis
The Three Minute Thesis format was developed at The University of Queensland in Australia. While the format is geared towards Graduate students presenting their thesis research, the concept can be adapted for high school students. The essence of this format, like the others above, is to be as engaging and concise as possible, while getting across the depth of the presenter's research. Check out the winning 3 minute thesis from University of Minnesota last year.
Google Slides is really all you need to create a great presentation. It provides a blank canvas and the lack of "bells and whistles" is really one of its strengths. Check out how to automate your slides for one of these formats in the video.
