Volunteer at a Nurse Lab!

The College of San Mateo may be looking for student volunteers in need of community service hours starting next year. There may be opportunities to work in a LAB and get a sense of what that entails! Please click the link below to sign the INTEREST FORM.

The Collective Roots Gardening Program provides an opportunity for gardening skill-building, resource sharing, and community empowerment at Collective Roots community garden. Through their workshops, volunteer workdays, and community resources, they equip families with the skills and means to grow their own fresh fruits and vegetables. 

Help plant, maintain, and harvest their community and educational gardens in East Palo Alto, while learning the basics of organic gardening and enjoying being part of the community.

We ask that you bring your own gardening gloves, masks, and water bottles every time you volunteer with us. We encourage you to bring your own tools if possible.

YMCA volunteers help make a positive difference in our community through a wide range of opportunities for people of all ages and skill sets.

To help keep our members and participants safe, all YMCA volunteers undergo a screening process, including fingerprinting and reference checks. At the current time, some volunteer opportunities may also require proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

REQUIERMENTS:

Be at least 14 years old

ABOUT:

Food distribution is a hands-on volunteer activity. Activities could include assisting with room set up, unloading and moving food from pallets to the distribution center; sorting and distributing food; and clean up. This is a great chance for volunteers to interface with our clients. This volunteer activity does require some heavy lifting (a minimum of 25lbs.) and regular movement.

The volunteer must be willing and able to work with people of different backgrounds and nationalities, exhibit compassion and sensitivity, maintain strict confidentiality of all member and volunteer information.
