Green Office Checklist (worth one Passport point)
As part of Colgate’s Sustainability Passport Program and continued commitment to sustainability and climate action, the Green Office Checklist empowers you to integrate sustainable practices into your everyday work environment. This checklist provides a menu of simple, meaningful actions you can take to advance sustainability and reduce your environmental impact as you go about your work.
How The Program Works:
Commit to the Colgate University Green Office Pledge (required).
Review the Green Office Checklist Action Menu (below)
This program is designed to be general and broad in scope. Its flexibility can hopefully be aligned with your role on campus, whether you're managing office purchases, teaching courses, organizing events, or simply working at your desk; your choices make a difference.
All actions contribute to Colgate’s Sustainability Behavioral Competency and carbon neutrality goals.
Select and commit to at least nine (9) actions from the Green Office Checklist.
Mark an action if you either already practice it or are committing to start doing it going forward.
Choose only the actions that are relevant to your role or workspace—some items may not apply, and that’s okay.
Complete the checklist individually, though some actions may involve collaboration with colleagues in your shared office or department.
Submit your completed checklist using the designated Google Form to receive one point in the Passport Program.
Once you’ve reviewed the complete list of action items below and confirmed your commitment to the Green Office Pledge, please submit your Green Office Checklist by completing the Google Form to receive your Passport point.
Together, we can foster a stronger culture of sustainability on campus... one action at a time.
If you’ve already completed the Green Office Pledge and submitted your first Green Office Checklist with at least nine (9) actions, you’re eligible to take your sustainability commitment to the next level!
The Advanced Green Office Checklist offers an opportunity to earn one additional Passport point by demonstrating deeper or more sustained engagement with office-based sustainability practices.
