2019 STARR Rink Lighting Upgrade

This project replaced 41 metal halide high bay fixtures with 240w high-efficiency LED high bay fixtures. This project will reduce the amount of electricity usage and cost, reduce replacement costs and overall maintenance, and reduce the duration of lighting start up during power outages. Importantly, this lighting upgrade will increase light levels to NCAA Div 1 levels. Expected results are annual energy savings of $3,886.56 and a reduction of 45 tons of greenhouse gas emissions. The old rink is being used for intramural athletics, training, and club leagues.
