Fill out our registration form with your event information to start the process of getting your event certified!

Five Steps to Oak Event Certification:

Step 1: Review the In-Person Oak Event Checklist. Try to integrate as much of either checklist into your preparation plans.

Step 2: Complete the Oak Event Certification Application at least 5 days before your event to register your event through the Office of Sustainability.

Step 3: The Office of Sustainability will review your event and may offer suggestions and ask for clarification on certain matters.

Step 4: If your event qualifies, you will receive the Oak Event Certification seal to help promote your event.

Step 5: After your event, provide the Office of Sustainability with your feedback to help improve this program over time.


Evaluation Criteria

In the preliminary and pilot stages of our certification program, the Office of Sustainability is looking for specific actions event planners have undertaken to promote sustainability and equity during the event planning process.  The Office of Sustainability will evaluate each event on an individual basis and will continue to work with you to help implement enough sustainable practices to be considered for certification.

NOTE: The Office of Sustainability reserves the right to deny certifying an event based on its topic/content if we believe that it does not align with the objectives of our office.
