Wear your Heart
Wear your Heart
Every February, community members and businesses can “wear their heart on Colfax” by reserving a heart-shaped sign with a custom message. These hearts are hung on pedestrian light posts throughout the corridor, creating a vibrant public display of love — for family, friends, or Colfax itself.
This long-standing tradition has become a beloved way to profess love on Denver’s most storied street. In 2026, we plan to double the number of hearts displayed, celebrating in volume just how much our community loves Colfax.

Annual Colfax Ave Holiday Tree Lighting
At the end of November, we gather to light the Colfax Holiday Tree in a small neighborhood park that has often been overlooked. Once a dim and underused space, the park transforms into a place of joy, connection, and hope, filled with light, music, and community.
The tree remains lit through mid-January, honoring Denver’s tradition of keeping lights shining until the National Western Stock Show. This annual event has become a powerful symbol of unity, safety, and the enduring spirit of Colfax Avenue.
The Bag of Colfax
The Bag of Colfax
The Bag of Colfax program turns yesterday’s banners into tomorrow’s treasures. Retired Colfax Avenue light pole banners are upcycled into stylish tote bags, which are then filled with merchandise from local businesses along the corridor.
This unique fundraiser is both sustainable and impactful, having historically returned over $44,000 directly to local businesses and become a highly sought-after holiday gift that sells out year after year.

Art & Beautification
We invest in public art and creativity that celebrate Colfax’s unique identity, from sculptures by local artists, to colorful power box wraps that brighten the streetscape, to large-scale murals that reflect the history, diversity, and energy of the corridor.
Cleanliness
Cleanliness
Colfax deserves to shine every day. Our daily (7 days per week) cleaning program ensures the corridor remains welcoming for residents, businesses, and visitors alike. From graffiti removal to litter pickup, we work to keep Colfax clean and cared for.

Safety
Through partnerships with organizations like the Denver Dream Center, we extend compassion and direct services to our most vulnerable neighbors. Together, we provide water, meals, shelter referrals, and human connection to those experiencing homelessness or crisis — building a safer and more supportive community for all.
