Who We Are
Colfax Culture & Community Collab is the sister nonprofit of the Colfax Ave Business Improvement District (BID). Formerly the Upper Colfax Community Foundation, we have rebranded and expanded our mission to meet the challenges of today while preserving the legacy of tomorrow.
Our Mission
To strengthen and celebrate the spirit of Colfax Avenue by supporting its diverse businesses, creatives, and community while nurturing its historic and cultural legacy.
Why We Exist
Colfax Avenue is one of America’s longest-running and most iconic streets. Gritty, diverse, and endlessly curious, it’s a place where history and creativity collide. But today, small businesses face mounting pressures — from construction to rising costs. We are here to stand shoulder to shoulder with them, ensuring Colfax remains authentic and alive.
Our Vision
A Colfax that honors its past while boldly shaping its future: inclusive, forward-thinking, and always uniquely Colfax.

The Colfax Culture & Community Collab (formerly the Upper Colfax Community Foundation, established in 2011) has been serving the Colfax community for well over a decade. While our name has evolved, our commitment has remained the same: to strengthen and celebrate the spirit of Colfax Avenue by supporting its diverse businesses, creatives, and community.
As Colfax faces the dual challenges of limited funding and corridor redevelopment, our work is more important than ever. This is a time to reinvigorate our efforts, bring our 501(c)(3) mission to the forefront, and ensure that Colfax remains a place of culture, grit, and community pride.
We believe in embracing the new while celebrating the past — maintaining the character and charm that has made Colfax Avenue legendary, even as we watch it transform and take on new life. Our vision is to preserve Colfax’s history, uplift its people, and keep its vibrant energy alive for generations to come.
