While at BSU students will enjoy one of the safest campuses in the US, and can choose from 11 different residence halls – there’s something for everyone’s budget! We know scholarships are important for international students and we offer Horrace Mann Scholarships (up to $5,000) for undergrads and amazing Graduate Assistantships for grad students (funds your full tuition and academic fees, plus a stipend!). Greetings from Macalester College Admissions! I hope this email finds you well after enjoying some restorative time over the last few months.
While I know you’ll be very busy in September, I hope you’ll consider joining my 8 of the Best colleagues and me for our virtual program on September 11, or an in-person event if you live or work near Los Angeles, Seattle, or Honolulu. Our excitement to reconnect with you in our collaborative work to help the next generation of students evaluate their college options might only be matched by a similar hope to connect with your students. So, please encourage them to join Mac for one of the 8 Best in-person or virtual student programs!
Of course, other colleagues in Mac Admissions are making plans to visit high schools and community-based organizations across the country and world. A full inventory of all in-person and virtual events may be found here.
As we move into the 2023-2024 cycle, a reminder that Macalester is test optional, has no application fee, and accepts applications in four decision rounds including Early Action.
I'm also pleased to report that the group of new Macalester students, set to begin their first semester momentarily, are another fantastic group. You can find our Class of 2027 Profile here. A few highlights:
26 percent of the class hold a non-USA citizenship (some of those students are U.S. dual citizens)
43 percent of domestic students identify as students of color
44 percent of incoming students chose to submit ACT or SAT scores as part of their admission application
Mac students come from around the U.S. and around the world, with high schools sending the most students to Macalester located in Illinois, California, Minnesota, the Netherlands, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and Norway.

Fall updates from Brown University
Greetings from Brown University. The last time we reached out to you, we shared the official communication of Brown’s President, Christina H. Paxson, in response to the recent Supreme Court ruling on affirmative action. President Paxson’s statement reflected upon the values that Brown University knows to be true about our mission, students and community.
We acknowledge that given the recent ruling, the year ahead will present many unique challenges for both students and those who support them. To help students as they navigate the college search and application process, we’ll continue to offer an array of ways for students and their families to connect with Brown and stay informed.

Need-Blind and No-Loan Financial Aid Commitment

Financial support for our students continues to be one of our highest priorities. Simplified FAFSA
Please know that the Office of Financial Aid is working to implement the new FAFSA and all of its provisions into Brown’s financial aid program to ensure a seamless transition for students and their families. Though the new FAFSA will not be available for Early Decision financial aid offers, the CSS Profile will allow students and families to have a minimum estimated financial aid package. Brown’s FAFSA Simplification webpage will be updated as details emerge from the Department of Education.
Extenuating Circumstances and Extensions
Application deadline extensions are available for students who have been impacted by natural disasters, community tragedies or extenuating circumstances. Please know that students will not be disadvantaged in the admission process for delays caused by events beyond their control. The same flexibility and support extends to you, as well as teachers and other school officials who may be submitting letters of recommendation or other application materials on behalf of students applying to Brown. CONVENIO UNIVERSIDAD CATÓLICA DEL ECUADOR
Compartimos con ustedes la información de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador referente a la primera fase del proceso de implementación del convenio firmado con ASECCBI. Este convenio aplica a nivel nacional, las carreras de Medicina y Leyes están con cupos limitados al momento, sin embargo cada semestre la PUCE puede analizar las postulaciones. La vigencia del presente convenio es a partir de la presente fecha; junio 2019 en adelante.
