We learned about pumpkins this month. Kids went on a "virtual field trip" of a pumpkin patch. We tried some new pumpkin treats provided by the cafeteria and Baker Blair helped make them. It was so fun.
October is a really busy month for us. There will be several things going on.

3rd- Mini Cheer Day at the Football Game
6th-13th-Fall Book Fair
10th - End of 9 weeks
13th- Parent Teacher Conference-No School
14th- Professional Development- No School
15th-17th - Fall Break
23rd- FFA Trunk-O-Ween
23rd- Vizavance Eye Screening
24th- Vizavance Eye Screening
24th- Picture Retakes
Parents will not be able to attend this party. We will be in and out of our rooms all day. We trick or treat at the middle school, high school and elementary. In the afternoon we go to the Votech at Kansas.
For our party please send individually wrapped snacks and candy. You can also send chips and dip, cookies and drinks. Plan for 13. I will provide plates and napkins. We will be snacking on these items throughout the day.
(Remember costumes cannot be scary or bloody, and please do not send plastic weapons to school.)
Thanks to a generous donation, Kindergarten received a free book from the book fair.
Skills to focus on...
Recognizing the ENTIRE upper and lowercase alphabet letters.
Identifying beginning, middle and ending sounds in CVC words.
Writing numbers to ten and counting aloud to twenty.

It is so important to educate your child about fire safety. Make an escape plan...talk about a meeting place...pets...etc. This is a great little video to get you started educating your child about the dangers involved with fires.
