Colby Institutional Review Board (IRB)
Colby’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) is a college committee responsible for reviewing and overseeing all research involving human subjects to ensure it is conducted ethically and in compliance with institutional policies, as well as state, federal, and international laws and regulations. The IRB’s primary purpose is to protect the rights, welfare, and privacy of research participants.
Researchers can find IRB application forms, links to required ethics training, policies, and best practices on the Colby IRB Google website.

Davis Institute for Artificial Intelligence
The Davis Institute for Artificial Intelligence at Colby facilitates interdisciplinary, human-centered scholarship using rich datasets with real-world consequences and prepares students for a future where AI is transforming industries, careers, and modes of discovery, creativity, and scholarship. The institute also provides funding to support Colby faculty interested in exploring new ways to incorporate AI tools and methodologies into their teaching and research or for designing new courses to include meaningful learning opportunities with AI.

Advanced Research Computing
As a part of the Academic Technology Services team, Advanced Research Computing is focused both on research and curricular application of computational methods of investigation. Its services range from data storage, software implementation, containers, virtual machines, instrumentation, and lab computer management.
