On an as needed, short-term basis, students will meet with the counselor one on one or in the small group setting. This will take place in a safe, confidential, positive setting. Topics discussed will be based on the needs of each individual student. Services provided will be provided by drop-in, short-term interventions, check-in's and crisis situations. Topics may include: grief and loss, problem solving, feelings, stress, academics, social skills, interpersonal conflict and self-esteem. Should an interpersonal conflict rise to the level of bullying the principal will be informed.
The counselor will provide lessons and activities for students through whole group lessons. These lessons are based on a collaborative effort between the counselor and the teacher to provide students with support, information, and resources based on student needs. Topics may include: character education, following directions, safety, self-esteem, team building activities, peer relationships and anti-bullying, . Classroom lessons provide and opportunity for students to receive information and guidance from the counseling department.

The school counselor will collaborate and consult with teachers, specialists, special education teachers, parents, and outside of school providers. The focus of consultation and collaboration will be to assist in providing services to students in the areas of short-term, needs based social and emotional support.
