Emerson Porter is a senior this year. She has worked on The Pearl all four years here at Coe, and during her tenure has seen submissions grow x4 and the staff double. They are honored to be leaving this magazine in such successful and hard working hands! She will be continuing her education at UI in their Masters of Library and Information Science, and then hopefully finding a fulfilling career as a public librarian. 

Adele Dummermuth

Adele Dummermuth is a current junior at Coe studying creative writing and rhetoric. She has been published in Empyrean Literary Magazine and always loves a good haiku. 

Beth VanDyk

Beth VanDyk is a junior majoring in creative writing. They are currently spending the semester in New York City and are thrilled to be on the Pearl team. 

Arianne Maxwell

Arianne Maxwell is a junior English major minoring in secondary education and theater. She has been writing since she was very young, taking commissions in exchange for snacks at lunch. 

Aj Jensen is a sophomore double majoring in Political Science and English. They love playing Animal Crossing and drinking coffee. She is excited to work hard to help make The Pearl a success!

Rowan Hesford is a freshman at Coe College studying Economics and Sociology. Outside of school, she shoots on the Archery varsity team, enjoys tutoring her students at Hoover Community School, and hikes through many of Iowa's state parks! 

Magdalynne Preuss is a freshman at Coe who is on both the women's soccer team and women's track team. Maggie loves to read, paint, and go on walks. 

Lydia Marie "Lee" Munchoff is a junior Economics major. They enjoy being in front of an audience. They would like to thank their therapists, for obvious reasons. 

Peyton Bryson is a freshman at Coe and my first year in the writing center. She is also involved in softball and wellness club. 

Katie Kerlik is in English, creative writing, and philosophy. She enjoys reading, writing, playing video games, and being in nature. 

Kylie Hoy is a senior studying English and Business Administration. 

Courtney Rhinehart is a junior studying English and creative writing. She enjoys playing music and reading. 

Shannon Grogan is a Coe College junior double majoring in Social & Criminal Justice and Environmental Studies. She is part of the Coe Women's Soccer team, Environmental Club, Coe Alliance, Novelist Club, Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, and Off-Stage Players club. She loves to read, especially horror and comic books. 

Riley Swanson is currently a sophomore majoring in economics and political science, is enjoying his second year reading for the Pearl. He loves discovering the unique poetry and creative writing that Coe students submit. 

Cara Wenz is a freshman at Coe and planning to major in computer science. She’s a member of the e-sports team and in her free time she enjoys reading books, writing, and playing video games. 

Nessia Wagner is a freshman at Coe majoring in psychology and neuroscience and am on a pre-med track. She is a competitive swimmer who enjoys working out and cooking in my free time. She is passionate about learning, understanding diverse perspectives, and exploring various cultures
