Micah Boettger, 2024 Art Major
Major: Political Science.
Larrisa was a Williston Jones Diversity Scholar and a proud first-generation low-income Latina student. She was rigorously involved on campus, having founded Latinx (now renamed Nuestra Coemunidad), participated in Student Senate and Model United Nations, and worked with various offices to address diversity and equity across campus. She participated in the Student Research Symposium as a junior highlighting Violence against Women in South Africa. Larrisa successfully completed her honor's thesis on Past Presidential Administration's National Security Policies and their Relation to the Child Separation Policy. She was selected as a 2019 Truman Scholar and is Coe's only woman and woman of color to receive such recognition. Since graduating, Larrisa graduated from the University of Colorado Law School with Order of Barrister's recognition. Larrisa is passionate about civil rights and addressing systemic inequality. She is currently a first-year attorney as a Gideon's Promise Fellow at the Johnson County Public Defender's Office in Iowa City.
Major: biology and environmental science with minors in chemistry and writing.
During her time at Coe, Zoe was selected to present at a poetry reading and had work published in The Pearl. Zoe spent two summers at the Wilderness Field Station, one as a student and one returning as staff. Since graduating from Coe, Zoe has worked as a quality analyst in the brewing industry, as a production biochemist purifying proteins used in COVID kits and for cancer research, and currently as a Process Engineer at Integrated DNA Technologies in Coralville.
Major: history and creative writing.
While at Coe, Nina studied abroad at Queen's University in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She also participated in two Student Research Symposiums and created an interactive exhibit in the Stewart Memorial Library using the B.D. Silliman papers, focusing on the Nuremberg Trials. Since graduating from Coe, Nina has published three novels, and she recently obtained an MFA in fiction and poetry from Albertus Magnus College. In the Fall, she will begin a graduate program in history at Old Dominion University.

Renaissance Revival

The World of Renaissance Art class is excited to present an exhibition based on Italian and Northern European prints housed at the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art. After in-depth observation and analysis of the artworks, the students conducted research to craft exhibition materials.
