Dr. Benjamin Franta is a JD-PhD Candidate at Stanford Law School and the Stanford Department of History, where he studies the history of fossil fuel producers and climate change politics. After majoring in physics and mathematics at Coe, he obtained a master's degree in archeological science from the University of Oxford and a PhD in applied physics at Harvard University. Benjamin's research and writing on climate change and other topics has appeared in numerous outlets including Nature Climate Change and The Guardian, has been translated into 10 languages, and cited in the US Congressional Record. Recently, he helped cofound the Climate Social Science Network, a global network headquartered at Brown University that brings together scholars studying the politics of climate change, and he also currently advises lawyers seeking to hold fossil fuel producers accountable for climate damages.Â
