The following document is an interpretation of the Digital Agreement in 'kidspeak' and should be used to help students understand the Digital Agreement.
This is not part of the contract and students should still read the official agreement.
Teachers will:
Tell you the rules.
Teach you positive online safety behaviours.
Monitor your device use.
Provide WiFi and Google Accounts.
Let you contact parents if you ask permission and have a good reason.
Supporting you if something goes wrong, including online bullying.
Keep your online information safe, including digital assignments.
You must behave in a safe, respectful, and fair way; both online and offline. A ‘digital citizen’ of Cobham follows the school values on devices too.
As a digital citizen, you will:
Keep it positive. Always respect others online and communicate in a constructive way. Do not use, create or publish content that is indecent, threatening or offensive.
Protect privacy. Do not share personal information about yourself or another person.
Log out of shared devices.
Keep passwords secret.
Ask consent to record or photograph anyone.
Save everything to your school account.
Act cautiously.
Nothing online is secret
Not everything online is true.
If you are unsure of anything talk to a teacher.
Avoid online bullying.
Some harmful content is even illegal.
Be security smart.
You must lock your device and keep passcodes secret.
Do not touch other devices without consent.
Never film, record or photograph anyone without consent. This is a Tier 3 action.
Only access content that is appropriate for school.
Check consent.
Before downloading anything, ask permission.
Do not change anything on school devices.
It is illegal to take something from the internet and say it is yours. This includes copy and pasting!
Devices must be on silent at school, and must be charged at home only.
Learning-based applications only are allowed at school.
Put devices in a safe place when not in use.
Break times are device free.
VPN technology or other bypass options are not permitted.
Seek help if you or a friend feels unsafe or comes across inappropriate or hurtful online content and behaviours.
Cobham things are for Cobham only. Your school Google account is for your time at Cobham only and must be used exclusively for schoolwork.
You must not contact teachers (or other staff) over any digital platform except school email. Do not search, contact or follow staff online.
If something goes wrong:
Report online bullying.
Keep evidence of what happened - screenshots are a good idea.
Talk to a trusted adult.
If you use any device at school you must have signed the ‘Cobham Intermediate DIGITAL AGREEMENT’ and agree to the points below.
I know what to do and what is expected of me when I use digital technologies or anything online at school. This is for both my personal devices or school ones.
I understand I have the right to be safe online. This also means I have to keep others safe too.
I know that if break the rules, there are consequences. I can find these on the tiered behaviour system on the classroom walls.
