The purpose of this Sports Medicine class is to provide students with foundational knowledge and hands-on skills in injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation. Through a combination of classroom instruction and practical application, students will develop an understanding of human anatomy, biomechanics, emergency care, and therapeutic interventions. This course prepares students for future careers in healthcare, athletic training, physical therapy, and related fields while emphasizing the importance of professionalism, teamwork, and critical thinking in a medical setting.
I have been a certified athletic trainer since 2011. I earned my bachelor's degree from Azusa Pacific University and my master's from Baylor University, later obtaining my Designated Subjects Credential from Cal State San Bernardino. For the past 10 years, I have been a part of Norco High School, where I founded and have taught the Sports Medicine program for the past eight years. While I have stepped back from full-time athletic training, I continue to support our athletes by working part-time alongside Mr. Ryan in the athletic training program.
