About Me & My Research
I am an associate professor in the department of psychology at Christopher Newport University. I am also a faculty member for the university's Masters in teaching program and Center for Education Research and Policy. Previously, I worked as an elementary school teacher and my background in elementary education is a driving force behind my research. My research interests include teacher development and effectiveness.Â
More recently, I have focused on the impact of COVID-19 on teachers. I believe this topic is important because Teachers have become front-line workers. Districts, schools, and parents are asking a lot of teachers this year as students return to learning. As a former elementary teacher and husband to a middle school educator, I want to share teacher perspectives and promote teacher well-being.
