Insurance

Students participating in CNU Study Abroad group programs will be covered by the Comprehensive Basic medical insurance policy administered by iNext for dates of the study abroad program.  Any student traveling before or after the program dates is encouraged to add additional travel days to their policy by contacting iNext once initial enrollment is completed by CNU.  Students will have an online portal once enrolled and able to add additional days prior to departure and can opt into the Optional Upgrades like Trip Cancellation/Trip Interruption coverage.  We do not advise cancelling your current U.S. policy while you are abroad. Disruption of coverage could cause problems when reinstating.

Students studying abroad on an external program or exchange program can purchase the iNext insurance at a discounted rate through CNU. To purchase insurance through CNU, please contact us at studyabroad@cnu.edu. 

In addition to international health insurance, students are encouraged to research and decide if travel and trip cancellation insurance is a benefit they wish to purchase. This type of insurance can provide financial support for non-refundable expenses should your travel be interrupted, cancelled or delayed.  Some coverage will include loss or delay of baggage, lost or stolen goods, and additional add-ons. Please review each policy carefully for exclusions for coverage.

CNU does not purchase travel insurance for students. If a student withdraws or cancels participation, the refund policy is outlined by CNU for a CNU program.  If a student participates in an external or exchange program, the refund policy is determined by the study abroad organization or university, not CNU.
