After (3) unexcused absences in any one quarter, parents will be called by the classroom teacher; if a child exceeds five unexcused absences in any one quarter, the office will be notified, a meeting will be arranged and an absence or tardy plan may be developed with the principal. You will be contacted to discuss the importance of getting your child to school on time and develop a plan of action.

Absence Policy

Work missed from any absences must be made up.  For each day a child is absent, two days are given to complete and turn in the missing work.  Assignments will be given to the student upon returning to school.  Assignments will not be given in advance of a planned absence without prior notice.

Birthday Invitations/”Treats”:

Should you want to send in a celebratory “treat” for your child to share with classmates on his/her birthday, primary grades (1st and 2nd) request you send items such as a special pencil, eraser etc.  Due to allergy related issues that have become more common, we will not pass out food/consumable treats to students.  We cannot provide email addresses or home addresses for students in any class.  Should you send in invitations to be passed out, an invitation must be given to each child in the class and will be put in the students’ Friday Folders.  Plan in advance. Please do not send invitations needing to be sent home the same day. Should you invite a child from another class, every child in that class should receive an invitation, or we cannot send that invitation home.

Scholastic Books

You will receive paper flyers from Scholastic Books from your child’s classroom teacher several times a year.  Ordering is completed and paid for online by the parents.  The teacher will approve submission of all orders to be sent on the deadline.  Do not send in cash, checks, or money orders to school with the paper order form.  A flyer with further instructions will be sent home.
