Spelling:

Test: Friday, Sept. 11th

This spelling test is just practice again. It won’t count this week, we just want them to practice taking a spelling test. 

There are also 5 challenge words every week. (Not this week - will start next week!) All students must learn the first 10 spelling words.  If you feel that your child has no problem learning these 10 regular words, you may have your child learn the challenge words.  Your child may learn as many challenge words as you would like him/her to. Our goal is for every student to be able to spell all 10 regular words correctly.  The challenge words are an addition for some students and will not count toward his/her grade.

Science: 

We are continuing to learn about living organisms and their needs. Soon our creatures will be arriving in our classroom. We are also planting seeds soon!

Social Studies:

This week students will understand what it means to be a citizen and part of a community. They will learn it's important to respect the rights and opinions of others. 

Writing:

This week the students will write about the weekly stories. They will write complete sentences, using proper spacing, capitalization, and punctuation.
