I CARE ENOUGH ABOUT YOU TO SET SOME LIMITS!
BLUE (Goes above and beyond to):
*Follow instructions for and completes classwork in a timely manner
*Uses expected behavior
*Follow verbal and written instructions without reminders
*Follow classroom routines and agreements AND serves as a role model for others
(safety, kindness, respect and accountability)
*Stays on task during independent and group times, activities and direct instruction
GREEN (Satisfactory and consistently during before lunch and/or after lunch):
*Follows instructions and completes work in a timely manner
*Uses expected behavior
*Follows verbal and written instructions without reminders
*Follows classroom routines and agreements (safety, kindness, respect and accountability)
*Stays on task during independent and group work times, activities and direct instruction
YELLOW (Satisfactory but NOT consistently before lunch or after lunch):
*Follows instructions and completes work in a timely manner
*Uses expected behavior
*Follows verbal and written instructions without reminders
*Follows classroom routines and agreements (safety, kindness, respect and accountability)
*Stays on task during independent and group work times, activities, and direct instruction
RED (Unsatisfactory):
*chooses to not listen to instructions or complete work in a timely manner
*unexpected behavior
*must have more than two reminders in a ½ day period to stay on task
*disregards classroom routine and agreement (safety, kindness, respect and accountability)
*chooses to not actively learn and engages in unexpected behavior
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR:
**Keep your body and eyes turned toward the teacher, speaker or work group
**Keep your comments or questions focused on the topic
**Keep only classwork on your desk
**Keep negative thoughts to yourself
**Stay alert so you can be in charge of your own learning
**Continue to sit UP in your chair and keep your hands and feet to yourself
UNEXPECTED BEHAVIOR:
***Wandering around the classroom
***Sleeping or looking like you are sleeping
***Distracting others with your body or words
***Taking trips to bathroom or pencil sharpener (should happen on breaks only)
***Talking about things not related to the classwork
***Telling other people what they are doing wrong
***Reading books during class, or drawing, that are not related to classwork
***Turning your body and eyes away from the teacher or work group
***Announcing you are bored or already know the information
***Announcing you are hungry, tired, or don’t want to do the work
