Goldcamp Art

Art can be inspiring for people of all ages but it is never too early to introduce students to creative expression! I believe that art can teach students life-long skills including patience, mindfulness, problem solving, importance of community and so much more. Especially in our world climate today, it's important to me that students are able to express themselves and have a safe place where they are encouraged to create freely.

My name is Kat Bayles and I am so excited to be teaching Art at Gold Camp Elementary! I graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School and attended the University of Colorado at Boulder earning my Bachelors in Art History and Studio Art. After college, I taught English abroad but found myself missing my family, friends and beautiful Colorado. I moved back to Colorado Springs and started working for District 12 in 2015. I love working with such great teachers and inspiring students!

I enjoy creating with many different art mediums. Pen and Ink mandala drawings as well as weavings, jewelry making and photography are a few of my favorites. Working with recycled and unconventional materials is something I am passionate about and try to incorporate in my art. I love discovering new techniques and mediums.
