Schoology is used in district by teachers and students in grades 5-12 to assign and complete course work. Please read below to find some common questions and anwers about Schoology! 

1. What is Schoology?

Schoology is a learning management system (LMS) that allows students, teachers, and parents to communicate, access assignments, submit work, and track academic progress online.

2. How do I log in to Schoology?

• Students and Staff: Visit cmsd.schoology.com or your district’s Schoology portal. Use your school Google email and password to log in.
  
  

3. How do I join a course?

• Click "Courses" > "My Courses" > "Join a Course".
  
  

• Enter the course access code provided by your teacher.
  
  

4. Where can I find my assignments?

Assignments can be found in:

• The Course Materials section of each course.
  
  

• The Upcoming section on your homepage.
  
  

• The Calendar, which shows due dates across all courses.
  
  

5. How do I submit an assignment?

• Open the assignment in your course.
  
  

• Click "Submit Assignment".
  
  

• Choose your submission method (upload a file, create a document, or type in the text box).
  
  

• Click "Submit" when done.
  
  

6. Can I message my teachers through Schoology?

Yes. Click the envelope icon at the top right and select "New Message". Choose your teacher from the dropdown menu.

7. What if I can’t see one of my courses?

• Check with your teacher to confirm you’ve been added to the course.
  
  

• Make sure you’re logged into the correct Schoology account with your CMSD email account.
  
  

• Let your teacher know and have them reach out to tech support to verify.
  
  

8. Is there a mobile app for Schoology?

Yes. Schoology has a free mobile app available for iOS and Android. Search for “Schoology” in the app store and log in with your school credentials.

9. How do I check my grades in Schoology?

• Go to the specific course.
  
  

• Click on the "Grades" tab in the left-hand menu.
  
  

• You’ll see a list of graded assignments and your scores.
  
  

10. How do I upload files or attach Google Docs to assignments?

• Click "Submit Assignment".
  
  

• Choose the "Resources" tab if using Google Drive, or click "File" to upload from your device.
  
  

• For Google Drive, connect your account and select the file you want to submit.
  
  

11. How do I take a quiz or test on Schoology?

• Navigate to the course and find the quiz or test under Materials.
  
  

• Click on it and select "Start Attempt".
  
  

• Complete all questions and click "Submit" when finished.
