WCHS Grade Change Form '23-'24
Any grade changes that need to occur for Q1, Q2, E1, F1, X1, or S1 will go through the following process:
1) Teacher emails Mr. Poirier and the Department Administrator and Ms. Oates to Unlock the Gradebook for the given student and a particular section.
2) Ms. Oates confirms with teacher that section has been unlocked and that teacher has 24 hours to make changes in the Gradebook.
3) Teacher notifies Department Administrator and Ms. Oates that change has been made and fills out Grade Change Request Form
4) An Administrator Approves the Grade Change
5) When the Data Manager sees that the grade change has been approved, Data Manager will change the grade in historical grades.

A professional learning community, or PLC, is a group of educators that meet regularly, share expertise, and work collaboratively to improve teaching skills and the academic performance of ALL students.
Content PLC Key Questions:
-What do we want scholars to learn?
-How will we know if they have learned it?
-What will we do if they didn’t learn it?
-What will we do if they already know it?
Keys to Success:
-Come prepared~ Make sure all lessons have been read, worked through, and are ready to be modeled prior to the PLC meeting
-Develop and agree upon norms

Schoolwide Instructional Goal for EOC Courses (Math I, Math III, English II, and Biology):
I will provide effective instruction, through engaging lessons, academic interventions and enrichment daily to support the academic and developmental needs of all my students. By June 2025, 80% or more of my students will meet their predicted EVAAS growth as measured by NC EOC Assessment and EOC Proficiency will increase by 5% as compared to the previous year.
Schoolwide Instructional Goal for Non-EOC Courses in Core Content & Elective Area:
I will provide effective instruction, through engaging lessons, academic interventions and enrichment daily to support the academic and developmental needs of all my students. By June 2025, 80% or more of my students will earn credit for my course that will contribute to their graduation progress. Students earning credit from my course will increase by 5% as compared to the previous year.
Schoolwide Instructional Goal for Courses in CTE Content Area:
I will provide effective instruction through engagement lessons, academic interventions and enrichment daily to support the academic and developmental needs of all my students. By June 2025, I will demonstrate a percentage increase of 5% in student mastery with various proofs of learning in End of Course Exams (EOCs)/Performance Based Measures (PBM), and Industry Credentials as compared to the previous year.
Activities/Actions:
-Collaborate with teachers during content-level, departmental, and vertical PLCs
-Participate in assigned school-wide committee to support academic learning environment and culture and climate
-Participate in school-wide PD on critical thinking and problem solving, cultural relevance, AVID strategies, technology, creative engagement and close reading/writing
-Implementing creative and innovative strategies to execute lesson with high student engagement
-Stay abreast to the latest techniques for creative thinking and problem solving, and engagement
-Communicate regularly with parents and families regarding student academic progress
-Follow the WCHS student attendance intervention plan including outreach to parents of students not in attendance, and submission of student names to attendance team
-Ongoing informal and formal assessments to inform instruction and provide interventions and enrichment
- All students will be graded in compliance with the CMS Grading Plan for 2024-2025
Expected Outcomes/Evidence of Completion:
-Increased scholar success within classroom

Classroom Culture (SEL) PDP Goal
Schoolwide Goal:
I will provide effective Social-Emotional Learning instruction to explicitly teach relationship skills, self-management, confidence, and responsible decision making. By June 2025, chronic absenteeism will reduce by 5% as compared to the previous year. In-School and Out-of School Suspensions will decrease by 5% as compared to the previous year. Teacher-submitted office referrals will decrease by 5% as compared to the previous year.
Activities/ Actions:
-Implement strategies from Capturing Kids Heart with fidelity within classroom
-Utilize Sources of Strength material and Wellness Wednesday materials
-Collaborate with staff to implement Ambassadors of Compassion program
-Take attendance for all blocks every day
-Collaborate with the teachers during Departmental, PLC and staff meetings.
-Participate in school wide PD on SEL implementation, MTSS strategies, relationship
building, cultural relevance, and strategies for engaging students.
-Collaborate with the school counseling program that is based on pertinent data and is
responsive to student and teacher needs.
-Collaborate with positive team to provide social-emotional interventions to students to increase positive behaviors
-Participating in schoolwide PD to promote and foster SEL outcomes.
-Staff will implement SEL lessons with fidelity in alignment with the SEL pacing guide.
