CLUBS!!!
We begin clubs on November 9th!!! All children will be involved in clubs together. LEGO's, Soccer, Chefs in the Making, Chemistry, and Chess are just a few of the selections. Community partners, teachers, instructional assistants, and administration will all be involved.
The CMS Learning Immersion & Talent Development (LI/TD) Program provides students with a learning environment that develops students analytical and critical thinking skills.
LEARNING IMMERSION K-5 students are taught using rigorous instructional strategies that foster thinking skills to help children reach their full academic potential. Any students who are not identified gifted will continue in the Learning Immersion Program program.
AT TUCK THIS YEAR: First grade will be piloting the YET University Program . This new program will provide children to rigorous advanced curricula with supports by the classroom and the TD Catalyst teacher. It will expand access to challenge and rigor to our youngest learners to build a strong foundation for critical and creative thinking.
THINKING MAPS- Teachers include various Maps into their instruction. This allows for a common language across the building.
Socratic Seminars are happening weekly in 3-5 grades. Teachers are using Junior Great Books to allow their children to learn how to ask questions and discuss them in a risk free environment.
TALENT DEVELOPMENT 2-5 students are provided a full-day inclusive program for identified gifted students. In the 5th grade the children have automatic continuation into the INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE (IB) program that is located in their transportation zone
