Beginner Theatre
This introductory course invites students to explore the fundamentals of performance through energetic, hands-on activities that build confidence, presence, and ensemble connection. Emphasising physical storytelling, vocal expressiveness, and collaborative play, the class helps students engage with text through active exploration as well as the required memorisation of lines for short scenes and monologues. Students develop core skills in improvisation, movement, and scene work while learning to trust their instincts and support one another. All students will perform rehearsed pieces for the class. No prior experience is required—just curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to dive in. Course Fee: $30

Intermediate Theatre
Designed for students who have completed Beginner Theatre, this course deepens performance skills through more advanced scene work, character development, and ensemble-driven rehearsal techniques. Students continue to refine their vocal and physical expressiveness while taking on longer texts and more complex material, including the memorisation and performance of multi-page scenes and monologues. The class encourages greater independence, creative risk-taking, and reflective practice as students prepare work to share with peers. Course Fee: $30

Students can repeat Beginner and Intermediate for credit

Intermediate/Proficient Technical Theatre
For students who have completed Beginner Theatre or Visual Arts at the HS level, or who have Tech experience. and wish to focus on the technical side of production, this course offers deeper training in stagecraft, design, and backstage practices. Students develop skills in areas such as lighting, sound, costume work, set construction, props, and stage management while learning safe and effective use of tools and equipment. Hands-on projects and crew assignments support school productions, giving students practical experience in bringing a performance to life. The course emphasises problem-solving, collaboration, and professional standards essential to technical theatre work. Course Fee: $30

Tech Application 

Performance Company (Audition + Application Only, IB Option)

This advanced, audition-only company brings together actors and technicians to produce polished work for festivals and public performances, including NCTC and other school-supported events. Actors engage in rigorous rehearsal processes, ensemble training, and script analysis, while technicians collaborate on design, construction, management, and backstage leadership. The company functions as a fully integrated production team, emphasising professionalism, accountability, and artistic collaboration. Participation requires strong commitment, consistent attendance, and a dedication to excellence in both process and performance. Course Fee: $100

Adv Directing for the Stage(Juniors and Seniors Only)

Students must apply for this course that will work with students in Beginner and Intermediate Theatre. Students will apply ensemble building and stage directing skills.   Course Fee: $30 (Application only)
