In February 2019, McClintock won the NBA Cares / Chris Paul Foundation Grant of $100,000 to bolster our STEAM program. We are currently revamping the MIL with state-of-the-art equipment, furniture, technology, and the training necessary to make this space and the STEAM program here one of the primer programs in North Carolina.
We currently use a number of CAD software platforms and varieties of 3D printers to create 3D designs for prototyping for students who are inventors at heart.
We use the Cameo System to die cut paper, vinyl, plastics for students with the entrepreneurial spirit.
We have the Epilogue Zing 30 for students to create digital designs and cut them out with percision to test their engineering skills.
We are excited to add this piece of equipment to our shop that currently houses a band saw, table saw, and drill press. This router can create CAD designs with precision out of wood, acrylic, and even aluminum.
We are taking learning to the next level with AR and VR to immerse students in the past, present and future.
We will be bringing coding to the classroom. Not only can you solve equations, determine angles, learn to block and text code, you can have fun to wit the Sphero.
