Grades - PLEASE CHECK POWERSCHOOL FOR MISSING ASSIGNMENTS AND NOT CANVAS
Canvas has many activities and assignments that I am not using or am opening for special cases.
I spend a lot of time using the special marks they have given us in PowerSchool. You can check at a glance missing assignments which are yellow and incomplete assignments which are half blue circles.
Updates
Remind Codes
Below are Remind codes for each of my classes for students. Note: parents may join as well.
To have messages sent as a text message, please upload the Remind App on your cellphone and text code to *81010
This can be set up with student gmail account but phone is preferred.
This is for two-texting, phone numbers are not shared and I will not be able to call number.
If a phone call is needed and the number is tied to Remind, I may need to dial back using Google Meet but the phone number will not be local.
A1 Code: @a1ncmath1
A3 Code: @a3ncmath1
A4 Code: @a4ncmath1
B2 Code: @b2ncmth1 (note: there is no "a" in math for this class only)
B3 Code: @b3ncmath1

You can't do homework without one and I do not check out any from the classroom set because I have more students than calculators in most of my classes. If there is a financial issue, I do have several personal TI-83 and TI-84 calculators I will check out but it is first come first serve. If you have an android phone, you can download the Wabbit App but you cannot use it for tests. For the PSAT and the ACT test we can only provide scientific calculators. SAT tests are no longer administered by CMS and must be scheduled by the individual student. Please come see me if you need to borrow a calculator for the SAT test.
I've been informed that students Chromebooks will have this loaded but have not heard when this will take place.
Per the CMS grading policy, if you have not shown any attempt to do the work then it is automatically a zero. Coming in for tutoring constitutes to me an attempt and I will give partial credit for those homework assignments so please come see me if you are having problems.
RETESTS - SHOULD BE TAKEN WITHIN 5 DAYS OF TEST SCORES PUBLISHED IN POWERSCHOOL (USUALLY WITHIN 24-48 HOURS OF TEST) - IT IS A CMS REQUIREMENT THAT TUTORING IS DONE PRIOR TO RETESTS. ONCE TEST IS RELEASED, THAT TEST CAN NO LONGER BE RE-TAKEN. MAKE UP TESTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE MADE UP NEXT CLASS STUDENT ATTENDS UNLESS AN ALTERNATE PLAN HAS BEEN REQUESTED SUCH AS BEFORE OR AFTER SCHOOL.
LATE WORK:
If you have personal questions either email me or text me before school before the 9:15 or after school.
Late work for that quarter will always be accepted but the student is responsible for informing me the work is completed. I do not look back at assignments once I enter them into PowerSchool and I don't get notification when late work is turned in. I WILL NOT BE ANSWERING PERSONAL QUESTIONS DURING CLASS TIME UNTIL AFTER I FINISH THE LESSON FOR THE DAY. Asynchronous time is a great time for tutoring as well and I recommend that students stay on their Chromebook if I need to call them back for class so I can help them.
I have asked all students to keep track of their homework and list assignments in their assignment tracker.

END OF YEAR TEST
This test will count as 20% of the final grade at the end of the 2019 year. YOU CAN PASS IT IF YOU FOCUS NOW!
Right now it is anticipated that there will be an EOC for Math 1 this year.
