REMOTE LEARNING

The school will issue your child a Chromebook to complete his/her assignments. If you have one of the major brands of cellular service (Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, etc.), you should have been granted unlimited data use for the next 60 days, please check with your provider for details. Once you have confirmed service, you will be able to sign into to your phone's hotspot on the Chromebook to access the internet. You may also contact Spectrum to take advantage of their 60 day free internet offer. (Please note, if you have an outstanding bill you will not qualify for this offer).

If you have not yet picked up a Chromebook for your child or you are experiencing a technical issue with your child's device, please contact your child's teacher for assistance.

New learning paper packets will be available beginning Thursday, April 2. K-3 students may retrieve a packet at ROA or any other Meal Distribution Site in the district. Fourth and Fifth Grade ROA students may pick up a work packet at the school beginning Monday, April 6, upon request. Please note that the work packet will include several weeks of instruction. Additional work for the remaining days of the school closure will be provided to students as it becomes available through Canvas, Google Classroom and hard copies of student work packets available at the school.

CMS recommends that parents should be in daily contact with your child's teacher. Our teachers are utilizing various forms of online learning tools to ensure our scholars are provided with a continuous education during this time. If you are unable to reach your child's classroom teacher, please contact Mrs. Gust at stephanie.gust@cms.k12.nc.us.
