Classroom Guidance Lessons
We visit each classroom multiple times throughout the school year and have the chance to interact with every student during these lessons. Lessons typically last 30 minutes in length and cover topics such as school readiness skills, understanding feelings of self and others, problem solving skills, friendship skills, and study skills.
Small Group Counseling
A variety of small groups are offered to students who may benefit from spending some extra time developing academic, social, or emotional skills along with their peers, and to students who are coping with similar life situations. Groups can have anywhere from 3-6 members.
Individual Counseling
Some students can benefit from one-on-one counseling regarding academic, social, or emotional challenges.
Registration
Counselors hold registration in the latter part of the first semester each year for middle school students. During this time, counselors visit all classrooms to explain the registration process to the students. In addition, students are asked to take the registration information home for parents to help assist in completion. Counselors also visit feeder schools to register any incoming scholars using the same process.
Tia Turner
(K-2nd grade)
Hello! I'm Ms. Turner. I was raised in West Palm Beach, Florida. I have always had a passion for working with children.
I hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's in Education from UNC Pembroke. As a school counselor, I am dedicated to helping children develop confidence, both emotionally and academically. My background as a competitive swimmer taught me the value of patience, consistency, and celebrating progress. These are qualities I bring into every interaction.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling and exploring new cultures whenever I get the chance.

Hi! I'm Ms. Clark.
I’m originally from New Jersey but grew up down south on the beaches of Wilmington, NC.
I hold a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Masters in School Counseling from UNC Charlotte. I spent the first 8 years of my career in the classroom teaching grades 4th, 5th, and 6th in CMS and was a highschool counselor for 1.5 years in Cabarrus County before joining the Falcons Family.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones and have a healthy obsession with my 22-pound Chihuahua mix named Finnegan. I love being creative at home, reading on the beach, and football season.
