What is the National Junior Beta Club?

The National Junior Beta Club is an honor organization that recognizes outstanding academic achievement, promotes strong moral character and social responsibility, encourages service to others, fosters leadership skills, and provides settings for you to develop strong interpersonal skills.

Who qualifies for membership in the RFSA Junior Beta Club?

4th-8th grade students who have maintained A or A/B Honor Roll across ALL 4 QUARTERS of the previous school year, demonstrated appropriate behavior in all classes, exemplify strong character and have maintained role model behavior throughout their school career (they have NO discipline referrals, school or bus suspensions). Other criteria include teacher recommendation, community service recommendation (cannot be a family member recommendation), a one-page essay-- "What does being a part of Beta mean to you?", and lastly if student was a prior member, they must have an ACTIVE status meaning they fulfilled the required 25 hours of community service during the academic year.

What are the requirements of membership?

If a student accepts the initial Beta invite, the student then completes the application packet and turn it in to Ms. Pope. The sponsors will review the packet and provide a FORMAL invite to the student. Each member must pay the National and Local fee. There has been an increase this year due to the economy. The current total fee is $35. To remain a member of Beta, members MUST attend meetings, complete 25 hours of school and community service throughout the school year. Students are strongly encouraged to participate in as many service projects as possible as service is key to leadership development and core to the Beta Club’s Mission.

What are the dues for members?

There is a fee of $35 collected when Formal invites are accepted by the student. This includes a $24 National fee(increased by the National Organization), and $11 local dues. The local dues will be kept in the RFSA Beta Club Account. This money will be used to support awards, certificates, and other incentives for members of the club. With this fee, each member receives a Beta certificate, membership card, and Beta lapel pin for their division.

How do I apply for membership?

If you are a current 4th - 8th grade student who demonstrates appropriate conduct and earned A or A/B Honor Roll across all 4 quarters of the previous academic school year, and received a Beta Invitation, please click the following link to obtain a Beta packet BETA APPLICATION PACKET

Every student will not be invited. We are downsizing the club to accommodate social distancing as well as prevent the lack of participation in earning service hours and overall dedication to the club.

Once completed, applications may be given directly to one of the RFSA Junior Beta Club student services sponsors (Ms. Pope) or a staff member in the main office.

How will I know I have been accepted into the RFSA Junior Beta Club?

Once a decision has been made, you will be notified if you are being asked to fully participate in being a member of the club. Formal Invitations for accepted students and a Parent Letter will be distributed to the student. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to email one of us:
