Late and Make-Up Work Policy

Test Retakes: If a student scores below 79%, there will be a chance for retaking a test but tutoring must be attended before this opportunity is granted.

Make-up Work: If absent or suspended, it is your responsibility to gather the missing work from the “While You Were Gone” tray. School policy states that make-up work must be submitted within 5 days with no penalties. After 5 days, the highest possible grade will be a 50. Classroom participation and quiz grades cannot be replaced for students that were present the day it was assigned.

Homework: Weekly homework assignments (indicated with week numbers) are to be done and submitted no later than the following Friday it is assigned (unless otherwise stated).

Late Work: If a student is present and fails to submit work, 10 points will be deducted for each day that it is late.

Missing Work: I provide all students with one copy of missing assignments only that must be submitted. Any missing classroom notes can be found on the While You Were Gone tab of our website. Students can also download and access these pdf files if they have misplaced or damaged their original copies.

Homework and Warm-Ups

Homework assignments are given to reinforce the lessons that are taught in class. There will be homework Monday-Thursday and only occasionally on Fridays. Homework is collected on Fridays in folders and graded for completeness. In order to get a perfect grade, you must attempt all problems, complete all sentences, and show all work.

Warm-Ups are done daily. The expectation is that all students complete their work silently and individually. Students must show ALL work before we begin reviewing the warm up. Once class begins, students are given approximately 7 minutes to complete the task. After the 7 minutes, students will correct their work as we review it using a colored pen. Credit will be given to students who show all their work and make corrections. Warm-Ups are used to reloop content that has not yet been mastered, especially in regards to power standards on the End-of-Grade test.
