March 2025 Specials Pandamonium
As a special area team (Art, Music, Mindfulness, Library, and PE) we decided to focus our learning on Giant Pandas. Since National Panda Day fell on Sunday, March 16th, we decided to do our week long unit in March 2025. Our focus for students during this learning unit is to learn more about pandas, spread awareness about giant pandas, promote the importance of protecting them from extinction, and play a positive role in the conservation of the species. Activities included poetry writing, panda fitness, Chinese calligraphy, panda pottery, panda breathing and meditation, rhythm and steady beat activities, song writing, and lots of reading and research. Students advertised, made commercials, and raised money to adopt a panda from Pandas International. Students raised more than $1200 for Pennies for Pandas.
Welcome Back! Library Book Check-out has begun!
All Rama Road students have begun bringing home library books. We are continuing to discuss important book care rules. Please remember these important ways to take care of library books:
Keep books in a safe place. Your child's bookbag is the safest place. When library books get placed in your child's bookbag, then it will always be at school on your child's library day.
Keep your books away from pets that chew and all little brothers or sisters.
Please do not eat or drink while reading book.
Use clean hands when reading a library book.
Do not write in a book with anything.
Return your books when they are due, so others can enjoy them too!
Use a bookmark.
Turn the pages slowly and carefully to avoid accidental rips/tears.
Never let anyone borrow your library book. Return it and allow your friend to check-out that book for themselves.

About Mrs. Krantz
My name is Mrs. Jeanette C. Krantz. I have my BS degree from the College of WV in Behavioral Social Sciences. Upon my graduation from college I worked as a mental health social worker and then became a stay at home mom for many years. Upon my reentry to the workforce, I have had several positions working with children until I landed at Rama and I couldn't be happier to be here. I have a real passion for reading, books, and introducing that love to children so Creative Commons feels like a perfect fit for me. I grew up in wild and wonderful WV but have also lived in Baltimore MD and settled in Charlotte, NC in 2002. I am married and have two children (one son, one daughter), two cats, and one dog. My husband, Todd Krantz, is retired from the US Army Reserves (we survived three deployments!), works for Synchrony Financial and currently working on his MBA. My son, Logan Krantz, is 22 years old, works for a call center and hopes to work for himself in the near future. My daughter, Katelyn Krantz, is 19 years old and will be heading off for her sophomore year at UNCC. She plans to get her master's degree and become an occupational therapist. I am excited about the upcoming school year and working with our fabulous students!
