Vision Statement:

After participating in the school counseling program all students at Providence Spring Elementary will possess the

skills necessary to be resilient, have good character, and to be life-long learners who contribute to the collective good.

Mission Statement:

The mission of the school counseling program at Providence Spring Elementary School is to provide comprehensive,

developmentally appropriate services that address the academic, career and social emotional growth of all students.

By providing a warm climate that builds relationships, respects differences and creates an inner sense of

responsibility, we will foster an environment in which all children can thrive.

School Counselor Beliefs:

  • that all of our students should have access to the school counseling program

  • that all of our students' cultural differences, developmental levels, and special needs are considered in planning and implementing the school counseling program

  • that all stakeholders are part of a team with the school counselor to meet students' needs

Confidentiality Statement:

​​Confidentiality is an important component of the counseling relationship; however, students are informed at the beginning of the counseling relationship that if they reveal

they wish to do harm to themselves, someone is harming them, or someone else's safety is threatened, confidentiality will be broken.

In addition, students are encouraged to share with their parent and/or teachers, or the counselor will ask for permission to share if it is relevant to a third party.
