I am in my 22nd year of teaching in CMS. During this time I have served at a TD magnet school as a classroom teacher, a TD teacher at a traditional school, and the TD teacher at Park Road Montessori (6 years). I love the community and my role at our school! My husband and I love spending time with our 14 year old son and 11 year old daughter. They both attend/ed PRM. My hobbies include reading, spending time with my family and being outdoors.
In the classroom, my mission is to support the learning that is already happening in each classroom and promote curiosity, critical thinking, life long learning, and caring citizens. Environmental studies, understanding multiple perspectives, peace education, evaluating social justice, and stories with an unexpected twist are common themes in our lessons. I consider myself a lifelong learner and enjoy reading and practicing current research in Education. I completed National Board Certification and my Master's degree in gifted education at UNCC. I teach gifted education courses at Queens University as an adjunct instructor. I am grateful for the opportunity to be teaching as the Talent Development teacher at Park Road Montessori and look forward to many exciting opportunities this school year.
